Travel Eats: Restaurant Do-ne Japanese Food in Hawaii

Travel Eats: Restaurant Do-ne Japanese Food in Hawaii

Restaurant Do-ne is traditional Japanese style cuisine from Kyushu, the south side of Japan. If you want AMAZING tasting and quality Japanese comfort food at a third of the price of most Japanese restaurant, this is the place to come to. You get so much food for under $15! The restaurant is small with limited seating (~15 people) so the best thing to do is make reservations ahead of time or go right when they open.

Note: Parking is in the back as long as you don’t miss the small driveway entrance.

This was one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants we went to while in Honolulu.

The set meal provides:

  • Entree of choice on top of a large bowl of high-quality short-grained rice
  • Okazu (assorted small side dishes)
  • Pickled daikon
  • Salad with dressing
  • Miso soup

We got the salmon and ikura-don set, seasoned tuna-don set and seafood-don set. Loved it! Especially for under $13, it was impressive. If I lived in Hawaii, we would definitely become regulars!
