Travel Eats: Kyoto Ramen Yotteko-Ya in Hawaii
Yotteko-Ya is a Japanese ramen joint that came from Kyoto, Japan. Located in the McCully Shopping Center in Hawaii, Yotteko-Ya is surrounded by other delicious eats including CoCo ICHIBANYA, Snow Factory, etc. When you enter the restaurant, you will encounter a sliding door (just like the ones in Japan). Don’t forget to close the door! Note: Parking may be difficult so you may want to park nearby and walk over.
The restaurant is decorated with red walls and rows of hanging lights.
Gyoza - We ordered them deep fried but you have an option of ordering them pan-fried as well. The gyoza skin was so crispy!
You have 4 types of soup base to choose from
- Katsuo (Dashi/Bonito)
I ordered the special ramen, paitan! As stated on their menu, paitan is a richer, more flavorful, chicken broth and pork based broth. The broth was clean and light.
After manoa falls, we stuffed our faces with paitan ramen with chashu, deep fried gyoza and pork fried rice!
